About us

Cara Lee Splash was established in 2004 and currently successfully operates out of a 6 different pools in and around the Hout Bay, Llandudno, Constantia and Claremont area. Three of which are covered and heated, namely Planet Fitness- Claremont, Virgin Active – Claremont and our own Splash pool in Hout Bay). The other three pools, (Llandudno Primary, Herzlia Primary, and Dominican Grimley) we have access to during the summer months only.

We have thrived and continued to grow each year offering only the best standards, with highly qualified coaches.  Splash currently employs 6 coaches, including myself, each with their own individual personality and background in swimming.  Two of our coaches have a psychology degree, which also aids in the diversity in the adults/ students and children which we have swimming with us.  I am also proud to mention that some of my coaches have been recognised internationally on a swimming Olympic level.

My name is Cara Lee, and I am the owner of Splash swimming school. I have over 12 years of teaching/coaching experience.  15 years before this, I was focussing on competing in triathlons, nationally and internationally representing Western Province and South Africa respectively.  I retired in 2005 to give my swimming school my full attention.   I have also been involved in the hotel and restaurant industry for 11 years.  This service industry has enhanced my ability to deal with different personality types, and varies situations with people from all walks of life. This has also helped me to tailor make my programs specifically for clients with their own specific goals and objectives.

I am very proud to mention that for the past 10 years, we at Splash have a development project, called Splash Back, helping children from less fortunate back grounds learning the life skill of swimming,  this  helps feed into our Llandudno Nipper Life-saving program,  of which I assist on a weekly basis.  Some of the schools and organisations we work with are,  Bright Start and Dominican Grimley School for the Deaf.
